PSAT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test) This optional test is a rigorous national assessment for Junior students and is used to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Programs. We strongly encourage all juniors in the top 10% of their class (roughly a 3.8 GPA or higher) and students who scored at least a 24 composite on their PreACT to take the PSAT. Sophomores may take the PSAT, only as a practice test.
