PSAT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test) This optional test is a rigorous national assessment for Junior students and is used to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Programs. The test is open to junior students; in particular those who typically score in the top 10% on standardized tests are encouraged to register. Sophomores may take the PSAT, only as a practice test.
